Both the Windows Desktop and Windows Server versions of the Microsoft operating systems require activation or configuration some Windows components needed by Captools/net, but which may not be installed, activated or properly configured in the default Windows configuration.

 

Normally, the Captools/net Server installation process will either automatically perform the needed installations and configurations, or where applicable lead you through the process.  This section provides you with additional documentation on these, in case you need to perform these manually.

 

 

Internet Information Services Activation

 

The Windows Internet Information Services must be activated during installation, typically occuring as part of the Captools/net installation.  However, in case manual intervention is required or in the case of an installation on a "Server" version of Windows, manual activation is documented in the sub-topic as described in IIS Configuration

 

 

Windows Firewall Configuration

 

While you run the Captools/net Server Suite Installer, the MS-Windows Firewall configuration is normally performed automatically.  If however, for some reason they fail, instructions for manually configuring them as described at MS-Windows Firewall Configuration
