If Captools/net cannot connect to the Captools/net Database and the database cannot be opened in Microsoft's SQL Management Express, then there is a possibility that your Captools/net database files (CaptoolsDB.mdf, CaptoolsDB.ldf) have become corrupted.  One resolution to this is to simply find prior copies of these files in your backups and place those in the Captools/net  Database folder over the current versions of the files.  However, if a recent backup is not available, or if you have done significant work on the database since the last backup, you might be able to recover the database by using a Microsoft SQL tool called the "Database Consistency Checker" described at the following link:
